Dear Peter,
If you are reading this, it means I am gone, as cliche as it is. It also means that I haven't had a chance to tell you this myself, and for that I am sorry. I would have preferred to do this myself, but hopefully Laura has found Malia in the process. I've instructed her not to give this to you until she does.
The hard truth of it is, Peter, that Malia is yours.
I know right now you don't remember, but her mother's name was Corrine, but she's more commonly known as the Desert Wolf. She was a werecoyote and an assassin, and when she became pregnant, it took a great deal of convincing to get her to have the baby in the first place. When the birth happened and her werecoyote nature took it's course, she tried to kill the baby in order to get her power back. You were able to rescue her before that could happen and bring her back to the house. We put her up for adoption and I did my best to keep an eye on her so that when the time came, I would be able to help her deal with her nature. Unfortunately, that was not the case. But as an additional protective measure, we took your memories of both Corrine and Malia in order to keep Malia safe.
I know this is a lot to take in, and I'm sorry I'm not there to discuss it with you. But there is evidence, should you need it. There is a USB drive in a lock box with a video on it, in the vault under the high school. The code is 11-24-36.
Please give the letters that remain in the box to Thomas. They are his, he should have them.
I'm sorry that you had to learn this way, and I wasn't able to tell you sooner. I hope that Malia will be safe with you and Laura.
